Isla Mujeres, a small island off the coast of Cancun in Quintana Roo Mexico, is just a short ferry ride from Cancun. Away from the hustle of the city, the island has often been referred to by vacationers and expats as “enchanted”. It is certainly enchanting. It is truly the place to leave your cares behind. Boasting one of the top ten beaches in the world, North Beach (Playa Norte) is well known for its shallow warm Caribbean blue water--great for swimming and the impressive yachts that moor just offshore on the weekends. The island is said to be watched over by the Mayan Goddess Ixchel--Mayan ruins can still be seen on South Point (Punta Sur). Aside from its historical richness, the locals of Isla are a wonderful bunch. A mix of Mexican’s, expats of all kinds and visitors share a love of the island and its tranquility. There is always something to do in Isla! Divers and snorkelers come from all over the world to see the MUSA underwater museum and to swim with whale sharks. The Turtle Farm (Tortugranja) just down the road from Casa Zoey, is known for its conservation efforts and it’s shy shelled friends who love visitors. Various festivals are held on the Island throughout the year including Carnival and fishing tournaments. The food is world class cuisine and includes everything from pizza and burgers to amazing gourmet Mexican food as well as plentiful seafood and Italian. There is dancing and live music for those who like the nightlife and plenty of beach and casual dining for those that are more laid back. The most wonderful thing about the island is her people. The locals on Isla are a kind and friendly bunch who deserve great thanks for all of the amenities they provide to tourists. We love our Mexican Family and we think you will too.

Isla Mujeres, una pequeña isla frente a la costa de Cancún en Quintana Roo, México, está a un corto trayecto en ferry desde Cancún. Lejos del bullicio de la ciudad, los veraneantes y los expatriados se refieren a la isla como "encantada". Es ciertamente encantador. Es verdaderamente el lugar para dejar tus preocupaciones atrás.
